The CBI has filed its latest status report in the coal block allocations case in the Supreme Court. Sources say that in the case of over 50 allotments the agency hasn’t found anything wrong. It also said that almost all missing files related to the allotments have been found and there’s no evidence of anybody trying to hide anything in the govt. The Supreme Court has been critical of the CBI over the slow pace of investigations in the past. We’ll have to see what it says now when it takes up the agency’s report possibly on Wednesday.
